Facing Ourselves in the Mirror

I am grateful for the opportunity to write down this article on New Year’s Day. You know, the year doesn’t settle in until we’re halfway thru–at least for me it doesn’t. I hope you’re all breathing in the good elements from the January winter–wherever you may be. ⛄❄️🌬️💨

This is gonna be a short post—one filled with power but with few words. Let us look at the man above: Michael Jackson. If you’re alive — you know the name. The King of Pop–an icon for many. 🕺🏽 🕺🏽 🕺🏽Mike represented Zeal, Zest and a Firey Passion to make the world a better place. His explosive dance moves tell you: I’m in it to win it!

Do you think Michael had a good understanding of himself? I am not sure how well he knew himself—but once you’re 30-35 years old, most people are pretty much set in your ways. Our brother passed away when he was only 50 years old–he hadn’t lived a full life. It would have been good if he had lived til 70-75. That’s a full life. Some say, good things don’t last forever. Mike had a pure soul but I think he was around the wrong people. Too many paparazzi’s trying to get headlines from him caused him to frown a lot. I’m sorry for Mike’s sorrows. 😥

I once met someone that said God is an artist. And that, we can know him by looking at the diverse things of creation–the beauty, power and vibrancy. In the same way, Michael Jackson showed us who he was through his cinematography. Have you ever met another, modern-day artist that frequently recorded 6-10 minute music videos? They were full of drama, storytelling and theater. In a way, Mike was a superstar 🌠✨, a hero on stage. No one can deny it. But there’s a darker side of Michael that only he knows about—one which he called the man in the mirror.

I’m almost 35 years old. I’ve spent numerous days & nights trying to define myself. I was often frustrated and realized that I didn’t have to try so hard to … well … just to be normal. John Lennon sung “Let it be.” 💫 The book of Genesis says “Let there be … and there was …..” In this way, being who we are should be a lived experience–not one requiring rough changes. So, I want to plant a seed through this poster. 2026 shall be the year where I re-define myself—someone who is WAY past what others thinks I should be. Past other people’s opinions. And also, past all the doctrines and theological explanations I heard. I won’t make any announcements. I’ll keep the results of this re-definition between myself and I. Life begins now !!!

I hope you’re all on board with this inquiry—defining ourselves. Let’s not say “I did it because he told me to.” No more! Time has come to have full ownership, awareness, authority and conviction on whatever we believe is right or wrong.
