Welcome to episode 2 of Jackie Chan Adventures—a storytelling experience by yours truly. Today, we took a closer look at the real meaning of the Talisman uncovered from the shield in episode 1. Jackie’s niece ends up swallowing it — together with a bunch of Chinese noodles — and then inherits its superpowers!
Have you ever thought about what makes you unique or special? I believe that God made everyone with a special gift–some of us have two, or three. It’s hard to find it because our special skills can bring us harm as well as fortune.
For me, I think that two of my greatest powers are sensitivity and intellect. I became extremely sensitive, expressive and overall aware of my bodily sensations at the ages of 18, 19 and 20. It was around that time God found me—through the Exposition of the Divine Principle. I was full of excitement and joy as I learned about the mysteries of the Old and New Testaments. But, I also know how limited I feel when I allow me emotions or feelings to get the best of me. I lose track.
Another aspect of me is very intellectual. This one might be a strength, but it usually drives me in the wrong direction. It’s definitely one of my powers since I think extremely critically about everything—and I can’t help it. I once heard someone say that if something comes to you very naturally that you should do it—don’t fight the power. Well, I don’t want to keep getting headaches so I’ll try to avoid over-analyzing.
