My Journey & Course to Develop my Faith & Lifestyle

The following is an essay and reflection where I will describe how I relate with the Almighty God. I am grateful for this opportunity & for you sharing of your time with someone like me. Greetings. Thank you for reading this post about my life.

As you read this message, I pray and hope Jesus, God & good spiritual angels can guide you and your family closer to God’s love and truth. My faith is important to me and it is the last strand of hope I have remaining after everything I’ve seen and heard.

Purity, Love, and Friendship
A Schism

It all started when I was 16 years old. I was already a strict young man–separating myself from music & other worldly temptations. I became increasingly careful of touching or even looking at the pretty girls around me. I still remember one young lady when I was in high school standing next to me. As we stood shoulder to shoulder another student was climbing on a chair to pick something up from the wall and I chose not to look at her butt, or back of her body. Instead, I looked at Melody–my friend who was to my right. I knew from those moments that my heart was pure.

Eventually, after turning 18 – 21 years old I became enthralled with a new expression of the Bible. ‘ Twas called the Exposition of God’s Principle. Here, the Principle refers to God’s Handiwork through mankind’s history — His handiwork and secrets and how we are to apply them today. More and more is still being revealed and clarified.

I was then surrounded by tons of Asian-American youth who were part of a Special Task Force (STF). STF was a youth-leadership training program led by the Family Federation for World Peace. It’s now changed its name.

I have to admit: my relationship with God, Jesus and Sun Myung Moon are inter-connected. The fire that burned in my bones & made me JUMP with joy all over the place in those days — it was this flame 🔥 that kept my heart alive. I need to offer more and more gratitude to our Heavenly Parents for bestowing me with this new message of truth–although my course of faith has never been very easy.

I began feeling the need to share with others what I had learned — but most people did not care much nor pay any attention to me. If I have spoken with or touched the lives of, say, 1,000 people after joining this faith then only 10% have ever responded to me. Would you say that’s a good amount of people?

My relationship with God, our Heavenly Parent, began changing day by day — & soon I was invited to study Korean language at a special training academy in South Korea. This was not an ordinary school, we also did a lot of physical exercise & some students took up master of divinity degree courses. See these pictures below :

My travels to South Korea included experiences that I will never forget. In there, I learned the Asian-Oriental lifestyle of emptying oneself. Listening to one’s thoughts and quietly paying attention to the small details in life is a good way to construct spiritual discipline. This rigorous training I fulfilled came at a price since I did not have much time to sleep, eat or be alone by myself while living in Korea.

The Universal Peace Academy (UPA) was created by Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon to teach and raise the next wave of Unification Church Leaders. I was a cadet–and I felt like I was sometimes coming in and out of a day-dream while living in South Korea.

The Purpose of One’s Mind and Body Unity

Based on the words above, it is obvious that I’ve gone through several phases in my life. We should be able to draw 3-4 year periods of our life on earth. Every 3-4 years something changes. As for me, I have not yet found a spouse. But I’ve used my life to cultivate or develop having a pure heart of peace toward people. I especially feel very connected with God whenever I walk outside in nature.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned to improve my relationship with God was becoming silent & paying attention to my mind and body. There is no need to take care of bigger dreams or missions if you don’t know how to clean your toilet, your bedroom & other minor financial transactions.

Real leadership begins by taking care of smaller things first, and doing those small things well. Like some say, “Act locally, think globally.”
